Dawn Princess - along with its sister ships Sun and Sea - creates paradise on the high seas. Featuring a wrap-around Promenade Deck, this spectacular ship has more than 400 balcony staterooms to enjoy the ever-changing scenery. Hot spots include the giant Movies Under the Stars poolside screen, the adults-only oasis called The Sanctuary, two show lounges with nightly entertainment, and plenty of elegant and casual dining options from gourmet pizza to grilled steaks.
it is the only ship that I would travel on now . the staff on board was most helpful that I have come across the only thing I found was that the information when on the ship when traving for the frist time could be better as I found that new travers need more help to find things for example buffet and what floor and where . shown what floor the cabin is on they were the only negative things but apart form that little matter it was a very enjoyable trip and enjoyed every minute of it
Needs a refit.
Only sailed on her once & everything was very good.
Very happy with all aspects of the ship and the crew.
During the cruise, experienced a real emergency lasting around 90-100 mins which was handled professionally by the crew and all personnel were to be commended for the manner in which the emergency was handled.
Have done the N Z twice - beautiful - a really memorable experience. Any freebies to repeat this? Hopefully. Difficult when single.
All was great we had a lovely time
very friendly and clean ship
Our cruise was from Melbourne to New Zealand and return. Cruise staff were always ready to assist in every way making this cruise one of our happiest memories. We will continue cruising and have already planned our next cruise on the Diamond Princess in February 2015.
Overall the facilities and staff on board were marvelous,
this was the first of a number of cruises, each involving a different cruise line and ship.
We do not enjoy fine dining and therefore failed to fit in with the level of dining experience offered. The non stop buffet with ever changing menu was, apart form fattening, magnificent and a credit to the caterers.
The entertainment on board was adequate except the bingo caller was a little too thrill.
The ship was clean, we were fortunate to enjoy smooth seas, but I always choose a cabin that would be amid ship so as to lessen the up and down motion should the seas turn rough.
One unfortunate characteristic of any cruise ship is that being predominately steel of construction the sound of any furniture moved or heavy footed passenger moving about is amplified and thus causes disturbance when trying to sleep.
I recommend spending a little extra on a balcony suite, the fresh air and sunshine add to a great journey, smokers can impinge on that luxury though.
All that aside the princess cruise experience is one I always recommend to anyone who asks.
